Wasp 1.2

2004-5-12

I found a dead wasp in my bathroom the other day. I was intrigued by how different this wasp was to the species that Satoshi designed from. This one had much longer legs and thinner wings. I decided to design one taking into consideration these differences. I also tried to create a similarly detailed abdomen like Satoshi's, but, unfortunately, with such small paper and bad planning, I was not able to fold all the detail that I had hoped. Hopefully, I will fold another one out of better paper soon. This model was folded from 10" Japanese foil.

This model's production key was that the tail be long and that the monkey have fingers to grip a branch as monkeys usually do. Box-pleating allowed for both. The paper is divided into 32nds.
